Hey, I'm Kylle! Yeah, that's two L's. Nah, it's pronounced the same way, don't worry.

I sing, edit videos, write stuff, make websites, doodle too much, and do [my best with] yoga.

I love working and listening to people, so if you've got a story you want to tell but don't know how to do it, let's talk

PAGPUPUNYAGI: The UP Singing Ambassadors at the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (EGP) is a documentary and a part of the choir's 40th Anniversary celebration last 2021.

The video collates memories of our European tours and competitions in 2018 and 2019, anecdotes from members of different batches, and our full performance at the EGP in Arezzo, Italy last 2019.

See the teaser below, or watch the full video above.
I co-created UPSA's largest virtual choir video for The Prayer in light of the emergence of the pandemic in 2020. Over 80 of our members from the choir's founding back in 1980 to the current ones at the time had submitted their videos to help send out a message of hope all around the world. This collaboration was one of the most humblig experiences I had as a choir member and as a human being.
Over the pandemic, UPSA has produced a handful of virtual choir videos — for special events, conducting recitals, partner projects, outreaches, and gifts to our friends in and out of the country.

UPSA in Torrevieja, 2018: En tus ojos vive el mar

UPSA went on to win 1st prize in both the Habaneras and Polyphony categories of the competition, as well as the Premio del Público or Prize of the Public.

(Re-post by Ben&Ben) UPSA at the Ayala Museum, 2018: Leaves

This emotional piece originally performed by Ben&Ben was a special arrangement gifted to us by our friend and conductor, Sir Darren Vega, sent in our 2018 European leg to honor the life of one of our founding members who passed away in the middle of our tours and competitions.

It was an instant favorite, for us and for our audiences.

UPSA Virtual Performance, 2021: Alaala'y Laging Buhay

Composed by Mr. C himself, this piece was one of our potential competition songs for the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in 2019.

UPSA Homecoming Concert, 2019: Joyful, Joyful

Joyful, Joyful is a song I always secretly look forward to. Some of our songs with choreography always strangely catch me off-guard, but their surprise factor to the audience (more than to their performers!) is just as much a wondeful reward.

I especially like the setup we had here because this gown is one of my favorite UPSA costumes to dance to. Makes me feel like a pretty princess, or a shiny yellow cupcake.

Kaya Mo is a webinar we held in March 2022 as a part of Prowess, our month-long celebration of National Women's Month.

In the webinar, we invited two women leaders in the Philippines who embody and portray success in various sectors, sharing experiences of breaking the bias in their respective fields.

See the teaser trailer above. Full webinar coming soon.
Femina Invicta is a webinar we held in March 2021 as part of that year's National Women's Month.

Here, we invited speakers from the Woman's Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) and SheDecides Philippines to enlighten everyone about the definition, importance and reality of sexual health and reproductive rights, especially in the Philippine setting.

See the full webinar above.
Locked Down is a webinar we held in 2020 for National Women's Month to shed light on women's mental health well into the pandemic here in the Philippines, inviting speakers from the UP Center for Women and Gender Studies (CWGS) and from the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children (Anti-VAWC) division of the Philippine National Police PNP)

Trinkets of Hope

Besides video and copy production as well as taking on officer roles, I was appointed the Overall Project Coordinator for various projects for the sorority, some of my favorites being those that bring people with similar advocacies together.

An annual project I’ve had the honor of heading twice is our Trinkets of Hope initiative, where we spend a day of the Christmas season with the residents of Tahanan Sta. Luisa, a rehabilitation home in Antipolo for sexually abused girls aged 10 to 18. Every year is a booming reminder of the joy and love we expect to give to others and often receive back tenfold.

That Girl

I had also organized the online and on-ground campaign called That Girl in 2019. Online, we showcased women in different fields and different generations to illustrate how far we’ve come and how much we continue to grow in excellence. On-ground, we went through the University asking students and staff to complete the statement, “I am / I support That Girl because” to celebrate themselves and the women that inspire them most.

Red Rose Movement

The pandemic posed never-before-seen challenges for us, where we’ve had to translate face-to-face events like Trinkets of Hope and internal processes into alternatives we could just as effectively pull off from the comforts of our homes.

One of which is an older traditional event, the Red Rose Movement, which we hold every year during National Women’s Month to spread strength and support to the women around us by handing out red roses around the University and the Philippine General Hospital. In 2021, my sisters created an online campaign to carry out the Movement’s message by asking its participants from all over the country to post a photo of themselves with a creatively integrated red rose (e.g. using a frame, holding one, utilizing their art) to answer the question, "How, in your own ways, will you achieve an equal future for women?"

You can find some of the entries still posted on Facebook and Instagram under the hashtags #FeminaInvicta, #RedRoseMovement, and #ChooseToChallenge.

Tulaan ng BayanEAN

Another one of my favorite pandemic project brain children was Tulaan ng Bayan∑AN, a poetry contest held for the Filipino youth in 2021 for Buwan ng Wika. Under a theme, young Filipino writers took to their pens and using our native language had spun lines and lines of the most inspiring Filipino poetry I’ve seen in a very long time. The turnout was overwhelming and spectacular.

Personal Work
When I'm at my most tired and all I want to do is sleep, the Misdirected Productivity Fairy comes into my room and tells me to do a cover and edit a video for it for fun. Some I give as gifts to my family, friends, or the rest of the world, but some I just keep to myself.

With less than 1% on my physical battery for the day, my laptop and phone still working, my Capricorn rising, and the strange urge to make people feel something, how can I turn such opportunities down?
I did a cover of PYNK by Janelle Monae the night before International Women's Day 2022, originally planning to try on a dress I was going to use for a silly Instagram post to cop an Elle Woods, but I spiraled.

It would've been a crime to let anyone watching on Women's Day to leave this video with no value gained.
I collaborated with the UP Peers Empowering Peers Society (UP PEPS) for an online concert they had in celebration of Mental Health Month last October 2021. For this, I did a cover of Here Comes a Thought from the "children's" show Steven Universe (I say this because evidently more adults have cried upon watching this show, including myself).
Here's a video I put together in 4 hours as a last-minute present for my parents' wedding anniversary in 2021. I was lucky enough to gather a couple of choir friends to lend their beautiful voices and faces for just as little time for this one.

Brevo, 2021: The Keepers Website

In 2021, I did a website re-design for my agency. It was a lot of fun! I submitted the site's original wireframes, and was given a team of copy and art to help polish the site.

Today, I continue to practice platform development on Wordpress with other ongoing projects, and I take care of other clients' site maintenance and Brevo's more technical tasks.

Screenwriting, 2019: Biag ni Manang

I joined Adobo Creative Hub's Swipe Write workshop in 2019 to take an impulsive step toward writing for films. I nabbed the Best Pitch Award for my idea on a full-length film I'd like to one day put on paper called Biag ni Manang.

“Biag ni Manag” explores the ventures of 18-year-old Joey, an aspiring writer, and 7-year-old Pining, a little Ilocano girl who dreams of making it as a doctor in Manila. The film would shift in perspectives, depicting the lives of both protagonists as they go through them with their respective siblings: Joey relentlessly avoiding her younger sister, Tala and Pining just idolizing her older one, Manag. The story plays with elements of fantasy and reality, slowly connecting their ultimately different narratives as they realise their lives might be so far apart after all.
